Ceremonial Vessels

These vessels and spoons are unique. In my Vermont studio I sculpt them in wax. I then deliver the waxes to Maine to be cast in bronze at Somerset Foundry. Weeks later I'm back at the foundry to work on the final stages of surface finish and patinas.

I have one vessel in my home simply as a sculpture, though each is created to be functional as well as an art object. Their uses depend on your desires: altar offerings, jewelry dish, a catch-all for keys and other small items. A history of bronze ritual vessels crosses cultures and centuries -- bronze is indestructible.
