MountainHead. Hangaram Art Museum, Seoul. Painted plaster. 6' x 6.5' x 10'
Mountains are the inspiration for this sculpture. Recalling the profile of Mt. Mansfield in my childhood home of Stowe, Vermont, this sculpture melds the mountain forms of Korea and Vermont’s Green Mountains with features of my face and the faces of new Korean friends.
The last photo shows the model for permanent installation at the International Sculpture Park, Songchu Art Valley, Korea. Four bronze casts of MountainHead made in different heights will be arranged to evoke a mountain landscape, reflecting the surrounding environment of the International Sculpture Park, Songchu Art Valley, South Korea. Intended to be touched, climbed or reclined upon, the final installation will measure approximately 6' x 20' x 20'
